The Sound Behind the Music

A little about the journey so far

Crystal Benton is a genre-defying force with the vocal power of an ’80s metal titan and the lyrical bite of a 21st-century truth-teller. Inspired by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Megadeth, she channels metal’s golden age into something fiercely personal and current. Born on May 13, 1994 (Friday the 13th!) in Bentonville, AR, she crafted her stage name from Crystal Bridges Museum and her hometown—raw expression refocused.

Her debut, Trilogy Against Tyranny, kicks off with a scream—frustrated, defiant, unmistakably hers. Throughout the three-track set—Never Capitulate!, The Hoe Man is the Devil, To Hell with the King—her voice seethes with rage yet soothes, earning her the name "The Banshee of Bentonville". These aren’t existential musings—they’re anthems of resistance.

She draws influence from the harder edge of metal (Metallica) and its more commercial roots (Pat Benatar), with modern nods to Rage Against the Machine, Taylor Swift, and Lana Del Rey—the result is music that’s vintage yet vital, melodic, yet ready to snarl.

Offstage, she’s a sci‑fi nerd, horror fan, and advocate of the golden rule: live and let live—just don’t hurt others. Her wit is sharp, her voice unstoppable.

From ripping into protest metal to adding haunting depth on tracks like “Badlands (That Cold November Day),” Crystal Benton proves there’s no style—or story—she can’t own.
